Bambu – “Party Worker” (Release) & “Minimum Wage” (Video)

Bambu just dropped his new Party Worker album last week, and this new video for “Minimum Wage” dropped today. Free listens below and you can cop the album for about ten bucks. Shot by Kevin Vea and directed by Paco Raterta.

Party Worker is the latest album from Los Angeles emcee, Bambu. The people-powered, full-length LP is a conceptual work – taking place in a grassroots organizational meeting with an emcee’s twist. It’s pro-worker and pro-people approach was masterfully crafted by Bambu and DJ Phatrick in a span of 4-days. The two locked themselves into a few rooms at the Line Hotel in Los Angeles’ Koreatown and emerged with a 15-track body of work that highlights Bambu’s skill as an emcee and his ability to speak on social issues without rhetoric or the ‘corniness’ that typically comes with socially conscious Hip Hop.

Minimum Wage is the second featured single off the album. The video was directed, edited and animated by one of the most talented film makers in Manila, Paco Raterta and shot by Welcome To The Party director/editor, Kevin Vea. The video is a moving photograph of everyday life in the Philippines, while traveling with some interesting workers… Or possibly aliens who’ve come to see how we treat our poor and working class.
