  • Epidemic ft. Fashawn “Dreamers” | @hexone1 @fashawn @tantubeats

This joint was released a few weeks ago from South Florida duo Epidemic, which is a Tantu Beats produced track featuring left coast emcee Fashawn. Check out their Solution project here.

A retrospective look at all the struggles, memories, and more importantly, progress we as artists experience on our way to reaching our dreams. The music video for Epidemic’s second single “Dreamers” shows a chronicled view of the beginning of their journey and marks a milestone into a new plateau for the South Florida duo. Featuring a west coast veteran and still rising star: Fashawn, it delves into both the beauty and frustration that comes with following your life’s passion against all odds. Dreamers is taken from Epidemic and dutch beatsmith Tantu’s EP titled “The Soulution” due for release on August 5th digitally and on CD, with the vinyl possibly at a later date.

    01. The Soulution
    02. Dreamers (ft. Fashawn)
    03. Cold World
    04. Get Up (Interlude)
    05. Playin’ With My Heart (ft. Johaz of Dag Savage)
    06. History Lesson

What originally started as a guest feature for Tantu’s debut release “Language of Beats,” spawned into a project of its own titled “The Soulution.” A short but sweet display of Tantu’s diverse pallet of sounds and Epidemic’s ability to subtly adapt to a producer’s style. This project brings a refreshingly modern sound while keeping relative familiarity with the golden era-esque vibe that Epidemic has been known to bring. It features a soulful sound scape with melodies ranging from both uplifting to nostalgic all packed into about 25 minutes. Entirely produced by Tantu, with 5 songs, one instrumental and 2 of the west coast’s finest lyricists (The EP features Fashawn and Johaz of Dag Savage), it is something like quick a shot of dope – sure to hold fans over until the next full length release.

  • #KANSAS: Stik Figa ft. Irv Da Phenom “Charlie’s Liquor” Video | @Stik_Figa @IrvDaPHENOM

One of Top City’s most established and well known emcees, Stik Figa, just dropped a new short music video for his stand out cut, “Charlie’s Liquor.” The video features Fuelo as a young Stik in high school. This joint is definitely one of my favorite tracks from his project, The Pookey Tape. Shout out to The Midwest Invasion for another new video!

  • Apollo Brown ft. Roc Marciano “Lonely & Cold” Video | @ApolloBrown

Check Apollo Brown and Roc Marciano on this new visual from Apollo’s recent Thirty Eight project. You can read what the Detroit producer had to say about the track below, and you can cop the project from this link.

“This is another joint that Roc wanted to do for the 5” so we did that one as well. This shit is gritty. It’s repetitive, I love. Nasty bassline. I get slow with my production. I don’t know if it has to do with my age or what, but shit, every year man, I feel like I’m getting slower and slower. The feeling of it. I don’t like fast beats or fast production. To me you feel more when it’s slower. When it’s slow you can bop your head and just feel that shit.

It’s on some reflection shit – but gritty reflection. Maybe my man got caught, the crew got caught, or somebody got caught. I picture him sitting in the holding tank, obviously somebody came and bailed him out. Nobody knows what he did, nobody can prove what he did, but he’s reflecting like, sometimes this world is so lonely and cold. Maybe that’s the reason they do what they do, or what comes of what they do.”What do you think?
