Grumpy Old Men ft. Tona “Where It Go” (LONEgevity Remix) | @GrumpyOldMen @Lonegevity @IsaTona

We just recently shared the first single from the DJ Booth & BDTB sponsored project from Grumpy Old Men and producer LONEgevity, and here is the second track that just debuted over at DJ Booth entitled Where It Go. This track features Toronto’s Tona. 4/25/13!

Fresh off inviting rivals to Kick Rocks on the inaugural release off their forthcoming remix tape with beatsmith LONEgevity, Grumpy Old Men return to give their competition another kick in the shins on single number two. Whereas the aforementioned remix was on the grimy side, LONE imbues this cut with a more laid-back brand of swagger, swapping out Don Cannon and Mars’ abrasive synth arrangement for a funkier, sampled beat. His slick bassline and head-noddable percussion are a fitting accompaniment to the bold and arrogant bars delivered by Mike Schpitz and guest spitter Tona. Time for the big question: is this take on the record an improvement over the reader-approved original? If you think so, then don’t miss the rest of the fresh remixes to be found on Sunday Brunch, dropping via The DJBooth next Thursday, April 25.

Grumpy Old Men ft. LONEgevity “Kick Rocks” (LONEgevity Remix) | @GrumpyOldMusic @MikeSchpitz @Lonegevity

Today we share the DJ Booth x BDTB debuted single from the upcoming remix-project between Chicago’s (by way of Kansas and Cincinnati) Grumpy Old Men and Indianapolis producer/emcee LONEgevity. Kick Rocks not only features Lone’s work on the production, but also as a rhymer with the first verse on the song. Be on the lookout for a couple more single’s in the next few weeks, and the project hit’s us on 4/25/13.

Click Here to head over to DJ Booth to check the debut and to download for free.

Not a fan of Grumpy Old Men? Then I have no idea how you ended up on this page—but in any case, you’re kindly invited to Kick Rocks. For those still here, I’m proud to present the world premiere of the duo’s latest effort, song release numéro uno off the duo’s DJBooth-hosted remix tape. Whereas LONEgevity‘s original boardwork was on the grimy side, this version’s bell-fortified bassline has a more laid-back, quirky vibe. As a result, Mike Schpitz and Pete Sayke‘s witty trash-talk comes across as more lighthearted than aggressive. Nonetheless, their punchlines hit home. For more dope reworkings of cuts off recent street album Free Lunch, check out Sunday Brunch when it hits our front page April 25, for free streaming and download.
