Ruby Hornet’s Closed Sessions: LEP Bogus Boys “Don’t Happen That Often” Song & Documentary | @LEPBogusBoys @RubyHornet

Here’s a new single and documentary by LEP Bogus Boys sponsored by Ruby Hornet’s Closed Sessions Series. Check the read, view the documentary, and check the song below!

“We don’t just want to add to the catalog, we want to be on top of the catalog,” says Moonie, one half of the Chicago Hip Hop crew, L.E.P. Bogus Boys. The catalog he is referring to is the Closed Sessions catalog of original music and documentary footage compiled over a 2 year span that features Hip Hop artists from all over the country, and most notably the windy city.

L.E.P. joined that catalog on a hot day in mid-August, just as music from their latest mixtape, Now Or Neva, was heating up the both the blogs and the streets. During that session L.E.P. worked meticulously and arduously on their music, bringing in Chicago’s own up and coming producer, Nascent, who tailor-crafted production to match L.E.P.’s grimey, gritty, yet still soulful style. The result of the session is “Don’t Happen That Often”, a song that clearly shows why L.E.P. has been a group leading the recent of resurgence of Chicago Hip Hop.

“Don’t Happen That Often” is the first single release from Closed Sessions Vol. 2, the new album and documentary series by Chicago-based indie label Closed Sessions presented by MTV2 Sucker Free, rubyhornet, and SoundScape Studios. Closed Sessions Vol. 2 also features Action Bronson, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Raekwon, Vic Mensa, Sir Michael Rocks, CyHi The Prynce, and many others.

Watch the new documentary and download the new music below. Look for the album’s next release on July 18th.

Mike Schpitz “Stanley Ipkiss: Year of the Nice Guy” | @mikeschpitz

Mike Schpitz and Block Starz Music has released “Stanley Ipkiss: Year of the Nice Guy”. I’m excited to check this out. Mike explains it a little here:

Today is the official release of my fourth project, Stanley Ipkiss: Year of the Nice Guy. This time around, I have teamed up with Block Starz Music, who is promoting and releasing the project. We figured since we have been giving so much music away for free lately, we would make this one only available on iTunes and other major online retailers. The project features 11 tracks, 8 of which are songs and 3 are skits. Stanley Ipkiss features production from Rob Bates, QB Da Problem and Nascent and I’m Trumaine. The artwork was done by David Hildreth(www.davidhildreth.net), who was also responsible for Love Potion Number 9th. I appreciate the support for each and every project, song, video, etc that I have dropped and I am really looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks about Stanley Ipkiss. I figure if we moved 5,000 copies in the first week, we can hit the charts so, spread the word. Below is the link to download on iTunes and the artwork for the track list. Thanks again for all the support. Hopefully everyone enjoys this project as much as the others that I have dropped. mikeschpitz.com

    Grab it on iTunes!
