The newest video from Indianapolis Hip-hop/fusion/everything else group TJ Reynolds & the Freehand Orchestra brings new life to their education anthem “Teacher Teacher” from their recent full-length release Purpose. The video features candid footage caught by Reynolds and students during a recent public school performance in their home state. The band performed a free concert for the entire student body, faculty and staff.

Reynolds and his wife Sarah Reynolds-Zuckerman have shown dedication to education their professional life for over a decade in Indianapolis. Now opportunities are drawing them to a new city. This summer they will be moving to Boston. Reynolds will soon graduate with a degree in Arts Education from Herron, and has been offered a position to teach in Boston with Teach for America while he works on his M.Ed in Special Education. His wife Sarah Reynolds-Zuckerman, a public school teacher for the last nine years, has been named a 2012 Urban Scholar and awarded a full scholarship to Harvard Graduate School of Education to earn her Masters in Arts in Education. The move is a major one for both of them, having lived all of their lives in Indianapolis and are deeply connected to the cultural communities it offers. “I don’t see it as leaving Indianapolis. We are spreading the movement in new places,” says Reynolds. He is preparing a few shows for the Freehand Orchestra before he relocates, as well as the recording of a new EP of tunes.
