Mr. Kinetik & Eratic Present…

Hinx Jones + Blake Allee + Papi Jamon + AR Mac + DJ Castle + Producer Showcase! – 9/1/10 @ Melody Inn
Yep, it’s going to be a DOPE show. Earlier this summer, Blake and I got together a few times in preparation to try to put a few shows together. This is the first, and also a continuation of the Tastykrates showcase that Joe Harvey and I put together at Sound Bombing last month. So here’s the deal:
-AR Mac, Blake Allee, and Hinx Jones of Indianapolis will be doing sets
-Papi Jamon is coming down from Chicago to rock some joints (live footage)
-Tastykrates Showcase: Son of Thought, Shawn P (of Dirty 30), & Soul Cinematik
-DJ Nickless Castle from Chicago is handling the decks for Sept 1
-We MAY have a home DJ in the house
-We MAY have a special guest producer from Chicago that night as well

Album Preview Performance & Producer Showcase | Proforms & Hinx Jones
We’ll be playing songs off of each of our projects, and doing an album preview performance. Also, J. Brookinz, Joe Harvey, and I will be showcasing some production in a special beat showcase. Come out… it’s going to be a good time. Chea!

Hinx Jones first release “Not Really A Mixtape”
I came to a realization last week. Hinx Jones has been a duo for 2 years now, and although we’ve each put out a solo project, we haven’t put a collective project yet. That ain’t right. So, I called up Gritts last week from South Carolina and simply said “Yo, I think we should release those songs we did that aren’t going to make the eleven piece”. He said, “aight, whatever, sounds fine”.
Here we are less than a week later releasing this “project” in preparation for our first full length album together as Hinx Jones. This project is simply entitled “Not Really A Mixtape”. We were originally going to put 8 songs on here, but 2 of the other ones we released on projects last year (search “grittstape” and “sessions”), and the other one isn’t really finished. I don’t really consider these mixtape songs because they are all original, and it doesn’t quite feel like an EP. Who knows. Here’s 5 songs of us doing us. 2 of em were recorded right around 2 years ago. Please feel free to drop us comments, and/or blog us… we would most appreciate it!

I’ve had the luxury of listening to this project a few times, and can say that it is definitely up to par with all of his previous releases, if not better. Even back to his KM2 days. KM2? Nevermind. He starts out the project out with 3 straight bangers, including the single with Mike Schpitz, and then goes through a few songs describing stages of relationships with the help of Ladies Runnit (additionally one of my favorite concepts in “Love Song”). He then slows it down with Hinx Jones, talks about his cubicle and boss, and then just completely snaps for God knows how many bars in IXL. “Stop take, rewind, take that back a couple lines please.” Papi Jamon jumped on a track that I love seeing live in “The Bump”, and then he closes out out the project giving a little more of the personal and introspective Pete Sayke. The New Black has everything. One of my favorite releases this year. Get to know Pete Sayke!

ACE ONE & GRITTS FREESTYLE SESSION
Here’s a little freestyle session between ACE ONE and Gritts a couple months ago when the Proforms came over to practice their set. ACE got it in like the dope lyricist he is, but Gritts SNAPPED! THIS IS WHY I WORK WITH THIS DUDE!!!! Our project (we are Hinx Jones (Lonegevity & Gritts)) is going to be dropping soon. It’s entitled The Eleven Piece featuring ILL Brown, Maja 7th, Pete Sayke, Papi Jamon, and Mr. Kinetik. This is just a rehearsal! More random videos to come as I empty out my camcorder

The E! Event @ The Darkroom May 18th (Chicago)

Hinx Jones @ Birdy’s – Sunday April 11th
