Back in September, Chicago’s Rashid Hadee dropped CNS Vol. 3: Don’t Care, a project where the producer/emcee chopped up a bunch of Drake joints and rapped on them too. It’s dope. Check the video for the intro track and the project here!
I’m very excited to release this Don’t Care project to my fans! This is my first full body release this year and although it’s a mixtape, I think this will be just as effective as an album. I enjoy making these “Chopped Not Screwed” mixtapes because it gives me an opportunity to showcase my production and lyrical ability at the same time. Even behind the scenes, it also showcases my mixing and mastering skills, and also my graphic design skills since I did the artwork (with some additional help from Thaione Davis). Yeah I basically flexed as a one man show on this and this body of recording was completed in less than a month. I actually made these beats about a year and a half ago; last January to be exact. Majority of these beats, all but two, were made in one weekend. I originally planned to release this a month after Aural Sex dropped but my idea was overridden in order to do a host of EPs on other producer’s beats. Fast forward to today, I’m still a young talent trying to make it outta the west side of Chicago. I DO make music as a way to make it out. I want to see the world and I know it’s a fact that other artists are capable of doing this. I figure if artists like Chief Keef and Future can do it, thats inspires me to continue to do it.
Anyway, back to the tape. I believe what I’m doing here is great way to see how my beats are made since you all know what my samples are. You get a chance to see I can basically make a dope beat out of anything. I pride myself with this ability as any human being would. Anyway, this tape has everything that means a lot to me. 1, Drake is one of my favorite artists and its an honor to chop the hell outta his last album. 2, This project contains the first Chapter 13 song in years being that I was honored the blessing of getting an epic verse from Young Valentine on “Rebirth Of Legendary”! That’s definitely a good look for fans of our Nevermore’s Asylum project. 3, I love beer and I drank a shit ton of Pabst Blue Ribbon in the last month during the creative process. So much I may need to detox for the next 3 months. Just naming a few things, I’m ready to wrap up.
