Gene Walter “To Be Away” Video | @GeneWalterMusic
This is different, and I kind of like it. Download below.
“The music video was filmed in Hollywood, CA. The beach scene was shot in Malibu, CA. The beginning scene was filmed on UCLA’s campus. And the graffiti/bridge scenes were shot next to the LA river. The director is also my older brother. He has filmed many films and music videos, most notably “Gang of Roses 2” featuring Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa which is set to release in February. I drove to California from Montana to make the video. On the way, I picked a friend of mine up in Nevada. I was going to drop him off in San
Francisco on my way to Los Angeles. Since I had been driving all night we switched drivers so I could get some sleep on the way to San Francisco. My friend fell asleep at the wheel and flipped the car, a 1992 Buick Roadmaster. He had a broken arm and the car was totaled, but I walked away without a scratch. I had to leave most of my belongings behind, but I was able to hitchhike my way to Los Angeles from the California/Nevada border and meet my brother on time to shoot the video.
It was one of the craziest things I have ever done.”
