Jay-Z – “The Story of O.J.” (Video)

Jay-Z‘s new 4:44 album went platinum today, but even more, we get to see Jay’s animated “The Story of O.J.” video. The video centers on a character named Jaybo, which is a tweak on the “Sambo” character from the children’s book The Story of Little Black Sambo – a reference that’s long-running shorthand for racist portrayals of Black Americans.

Jay’s new album, produced by No I.D., is out now – read about each song here.

The Story of OJ is really a song about we as a culture, having a plan, how we’re gonna push this forward. We all make money, and then we all lose money, as artists especially. But how, when you have some type of success, to transform that into something bigger.” – Jay-Z

I'm just trying to make my art and do what's smart. Cake donuts are clutch.
