From recording her debut album, A Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons, at the Red Bull Studios London in a month to releasing the album on her own label AGE 101: MUSIC to critical acclaim, Little Simz has had one hell of a year.

To celebrate, the young UK emcee went to the Red Bull Studios in New York to record with the L.A.-by-way-of-Toronto collective BadBadNotGood. It’s a collaboration she has long dreamed of, and ‘Our Conversations’ makes you understand why. On paper, the two acts might be as far apart as the expanse of water between them. But when put together in a room, they complemented each other like peanut butter and jelly! Simz’ hard-hitting lyrics and edgy vocal tone merges marvellously with the modern-day jazz musings of BBNG, and out comes a new type of future-minded hip-hop music that’s grounded in age-old traditions of jamming and storytelling.
