LoVibe / Hann_11 – “HALVES” (Release)

The NYC beat scene luminaries at Dirty Tapes have recently released HALVES, a split tape with Ukrainian beat maker LoVibe and Philadelphia’s Hann_11. We’ve been covering LoVibe for a while now, and this feels like his most consistent and cohesive tape to date. Creative, off kilter drum patterns with ethereal jazz and R&B loops, layered with R&B and rap acapellas. Hann_11 is newer to me, but his side is just as dope. Choice samples, woozie synths pads, swangin’ drums, emcee features, rap acapellas, and ill vibes. Dirty Tapes lives up its name again. Highly recommended release from one of the best labels doing it. Don’t sleep.
