SMART BOMB – “Heart Centered Songs: A Benefit & Tribute Album” (Release)

The SMART BOMB family from Oakland have released Heart Centered Songs: A Benefit & Tribute Album, a compilation of left-field producers, as a fundraiser for the Fire Relief Fund for Victims of Ghostship Oakland Fire. SMART BOMB is a beat music event and creative collective from Oakland who books some of the leading talent in the West Coast beat scene. The compilation exists on the outer limits of the beat scene. Experimental sample collage, and synth exploration weave together and morph in and out of beats and hip hop and back into other unknown territory. For exploratory listeners. Heart Centered Center Songs includes numerous Bay area locals as well as established producers like Odd Nosdam and Devonwho. The full list of producers includes:

Our heart is with our town. Oakland is our home, and these creative communities have become our families. On December 2nd, 2016 a devasting tragedy occurred at a warehouse party in which 36 beautiful souls ascended into the ether. We are all experiencing deep emotional processing and healing. This has become a remarkable time of resiliency and togetherness, as many band together to help in any way on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. It is a blessing to have so many great humans coming together for a pure purpose. We felt it was only right to contribute to this cause in the best way we know how…with our art. This project is carthartic and therapeutic for all who need it. Many of it’s songs were created as a homage to honor the souls that have passed and offer a feeling of solace for those here. We appreciate your constant support of our events and collective works. Your support of this compilation will directly help the fire relief fundraising cause, so we would like to thank you.
