Wrongtom Meets Deemas J On “Jump + Move + Rock” (Video)

After his hugely acclaimed Roots Manuva re-rub album ‘Duppy Writer’ (Big Dada), Wrongtom has hooked up with stalwart dancehall MC Deemas J for this next album project, which he signed to Tru Thoughts earlier this year. The result is a deep, fresh and bouncing reggae, dancehall and dub fuelled LP, with a vibe rooted in East London and paying homage to the culture and sound that first got them both hooked back in the ‘80s.

A hype-up track with the pure and simple aim of getting the good times rolling, “Jump + Move + Rock” is loaded with bouncing bass and hazy dubs and will be working its magic all over the place, from clubs to carnivals, this summer. Showcasing Deemas J’s innate charisma and skill as an MC, the vocal was freestyled in just one take. Wrongtom says of Deemas J, “D’s main interest is in hyping people up. Of course, he’s also got a lot to say, but basically he’s such a genuine, caring guy that he just really wants to make sure that everyone’s having the best time. He’s the first person to jump off the stage and party with the crowd at the earliest opportunity in a show.”

Not forgetting the down and dirty late night crowds, this single release package includes a killer, edgy dub-influenced jungle mix from up-and-coming producer FBR; and you’ll also find the original a cappella and the instrumental, a straight-up glorious dub reggae cut in its own right.
