You know, when albums released on Tuesdays, it gave people a lot more time to consume music throughout the week. People are busy on the weekend. People are out and about and dealing with late nights and family. During the week though, we fantasize about a job that’s not in an office or monotonous while we put our headphones on. Well, with that in mind, the world of blogs changing around us, and us at BDTB wanting to still somehow find a way to share the music we love, we’ve been trying to figure out how we were going to move forward into the future of music streaming/sharing/curating.
In so, we’ve decided to move a little bit away from sharing music posts on the blog and focus more towards sharing on probably the biggest social platform available: YouTube. Aside from our monthly Turn Off Your Radio playlist we’ve been doing since 2012 (that shares singles and videos on different platforms to one playlist), we have started the transition to sharing full albums on our YouTube channel, for three reasons:
- We want to build a social subscriber base around our exclusive, custom video content
- Our uploads automatically let them monetize our uploads when you listen
- It’s just easier for people to go to YouTube than a blog site these days
So, moving forward, we’ll be sharing all of the new albums/projects that we’ve liked and uploaded to our channel with a single #AlbumTuesdays post each week on Tuesdays. Because we prefer Tuesday release dates. Below are the ones from the last week and change. This week features new projects from Kaytranada, Bugseed, Illa J, DisTinct, Statik Selektah & Termanology, J.I.D, Marco Polo & Masta Ace, Locksmith, Eric Lau and Dag Savage.
Streaming and purchase links are in the YouTube description, so press play, cop, and give us a subscribe while you’re at it. See you next week.
