Cas One “Long Walk” Video | @casOne1

Evansville emcee Cas One will be dropping his The Monster and the Wishing Well album tomorrow, and right now I’m sharing with you a brand new video that was debuted today over at URB online. He also did an interview with them that I’ve listed below. Grab the CD from this link here on 10/29/13.

Working with Minneapolis kids like Eyedea is something that caught the eye. How did you guys meet?
We met through Sadistik when we did the “Art of Dying” tour. We also recorded the “Savior Self” song (in a pyramid) on that tour. I learned not to pack more than one pair of shoes after meeting him.

Being on Strange Famous, I’m sure you get to brand the “strange “and “famous” with Sage Francis. Did he like the fact you live in Evansville, Indiana? Is that an awesome answer to tell people when they ask where you are from?
I am not on Strange Famous. We all just slap each other fives that sometimes are connected to hugs like you see in urban movies. They sell my album in their web store though. Being from Evansville is weird with making a go at rapping. But I don’t think it has held me back really. I’m doing the small spiral that’s getting its walking legs.

What does a Monster have to do with a Wishing Well? Is it a contrast into how you see the world and their reactions?
I think most people’s wishes turn them into monsters. I am a fan of contrasting things. I like when beautiful things have an underbelly full of maggots.

Production wise, the tastes of us have all changed from 2005 to 2013. What is the difference in sound fro Liberation to this project?
I feel like the production on the monster is timeless. Every song but two on this record are made by Eric Hunter, who plays every instrument on them. They all have a really wholesome warm feeling to them.

Based on the people you work with…I can tell you are passionate about your craft and independence. How has the touring world changed from 2005 to today?
A lot more people offer me drugs that I say no to these days. Having a family makes it hard for me to just up and go. I plan like a year in advance now.

Does your album title have something to do with the release date a few days before Halloween? Do you know Three 6 Mafia is also releasing their project that day?
Yes. But being that I have ties to the illuminati they won’t let me give the correlation of the date and album title away. But I can give you a hint. If people don’t buy it, apocalyptic scenarios could occur. And being apart of who I just mentioned, I always know what Three 6 Mafia is doing.

Tell us about this video, “A Long Walk.” It seems like someone is getting kidnapped in Red hoods. Has this happened on a long walk?
With a wolf once and an old lady once. Right? Bung bung!
