Day 12 of 30 Days of Oddisee: “Odd Renditions”

For day 12 of our 30 Days of Oddisee series I’m going to be sharing a project that Oddsiee released in anticipation of his People Hear What They See album. The project is full of interpretations of songs by Bon Iver, Marvin Gaye, Metronomy, and K-Os. Oddisee bascially reassembled all the tracks, transforming all the songs into futuristic soulful hip hop while adding his own no-nonsense rap verses. The video for “Paralyzed” is below, and is directed by Bruce Thierry Cheung and Andinh Ha. The project is called Odd Renditions, and we shared it last year here. Enjoy below.

Oddisee’s tour is for his new The Beauty In All instrumental album. DJ MetroGnome, Old SOUL Entertainment, and Bring Down The Band are bringing you Oddisee live at The Jazz Kitchen on Wednesday, October 9th, with special Indianapolis guests Ajene Tha God, Hinx Jones, and ComDot. We will also have a special edition of our Writer’s Block event after the show, and our mobile recording booth set up in the back for all attendees to do something live! Check the links below.
