Days 25-27 of 30 Days of Oddisee: My Favorite Oddisee Tracks You Might Not Have Heard

Since I’ve been taking a little break from the internet the last few days, it means I’ve also been slacking a bit on our Oddisee series. So today, for our 30 Days of Oddisee series, I’m sharing a few of my personal favorite tracks that are a little harder to find than others. Tracks that I’ve had on my hard drive for years. The first track is from way back on the first Foreign Exchange album, Connected, which realistically is one of my favorite projects ever. The track he’s featured on, on Connected, is “The Answer.”

The second track I’m sharing is one from a project we’ve already shared, but I’m going to accenuate this song a bit. “Sand to The Beach” is an instrumental that progresses throughout, and is perfect for playing in the background on a rainy day such as today. Very jazzy and groovy.

The final two tracks are from a compilation I got back in like 2004 or 2005, which was from Half Tooth Records. I bought a Wordsworth album, and with it came with a free compilation CD that featured a lot of Low Budget artists, and happened to be my introduction to the likes of Kev Brown, Kenn Star, Grap Luva, and Oddisee himself. On this project he had two instrumentals, that actually might have made it to other releases (though I’m not sure), and those two jams I’ve uploaded and shared for you listening pleasure.

Oddisee’s tour is for his new The Beauty In All instrumental album. DJ MetroGnome, Old SOUL Entertainment, and Bring Down The Band are bringing you Oddisee live at The Jazz Kitchen on Wednesday, October 9th, with special Indianapolis guests Ajene Tha God, Hinx Jones, and ComDot. We will also have a special edition of our Writer’s Block event after the show, and our mobile recording booth set up in the back for all attendees to do something live! Check the links below.
