Bambu ft. Prometheus Brown “Books” Video & “The Lean Sessions” Release | @BambuDePistola

Here are a couple items of newness from Bambu. Above is a new video featuring Prometheus Brown that encourages everyone to…well, read books, and below is a 5-track free EP entitled The Lean Sessions. Direct download here.

Track number 15 on …one rifle per family. was produced by Karman, a high school youth who honed his skills as a student of Sessions LA – a youth and student workshop series that DJ Phatrick helped develop in the Historic Filipinotown district of Los Angeles. Karman has since found his own voice as an experimental Hip Hop producer with a very unique sound. After hearing what Karman had done with an old Tommy Wright III record on his Soundcloud, Bambu asked Karman to replicate such for his latest Beatrock release. After the release of the music video for Lean, Bambu once again sought out Karman to put together this 5-song Free(EP), The Lean Sessions. Something to play to help get you through your work day… Lean.

    6Fingers x Topkat “Mercury Retrograde” Release | @6fingers

    Video by Stretch Shots.

Man, this might be my favorite album to drop this year. 6Fingers production is just stupid, and Topkat‘s rhymes are right on point meshing perfectly with the vibe. It also doesn’t hurt to have featuring artists such as Del the Funky Homosapien, Bambu, Exile, Johaz, Rocky Rivera, Moe Green, Hopie, Do D.A.T., and more on the project either. Give this a listen and head over to Bandcamp and spend money on this. They even have physicals available. Oh, and I’ve added their recent video above for you to check out too.

  • BWAN “Living Room” Release | @Bwanifacio @BeatrockMusic

Here’s a dope project that dropped in the email. I just gave it a full listen and it’s definitely something you should add to your hard drive. Give this a listen and download below from either the link provided, or bandcamp.

The album carries within it a tone of street-hop under the scope of social consciousness. Bwan describes his project by stating “‘Living Room’ is a reference to home, a place where you can be comfortable, safe and free to be yourself. But the title is a double entendre, also serving as an idiom for having ‘room to live’ from the daily struggles and oppression we as young people of color experience in America.”

    1) Roots (produced by Emile)
    2) Infinite (produced by Fatgums)
    3) Don’t Have Much $ (produced by Artek)
    4) The Spark (produced by Mister REY)
    5) Grindstone (produced by Fatgums)
    6) Lyricists feat. Akil (produced by Fatgums)
    7) Pressure feat. Sahku
    8) Hurt People Hurt People (produced by MTK)
    9) Brown feat. Patience & Ruby Ibarra (produced by 6Fingers)
    10) Flesh & Bone (produced by Mister REY)
    11) Bust Back feat. Bambu & Irie Eyez (produced by Rythmatical)
