Chris Crack “White Van Music” Video | @ChrisCrackNDC

Chicago’s Chris Crack dropped a new Davy Greenberg directed video for “White Van Music” yesterday. The song samples the Charmels’ “As Long As I’ve Got You”, that was made famous in hip-hop by the Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.” track.

Crackavelli hits us over the head with not only a new song, but also a clean visual to accompany it by way of the TMTHY TRTL produced track “White Van Music”. The song is an expression of one of Chris Crack’s forms of lyricism that he calls “Freeswagging”, in which he takes a looped sample, defies all traditional song formatting and structure, and raps unadulterated & uninterrupted. No hooks, no bridge, no fluffer, just bars.

The Davy Greenberg directed video places Crack in the familiar territory of his own neighborhood, Logan Square, on Chicago’s westside. Crack peruses the tree-lined landscape lacing lyrics over a sample that most hip hop music fans will find quite familiar.
