Earlier this year, production duo Stu Bangas & Vanderslice released their album Diggaz With Attitude, a project chock-full of heavy, dark production and some of the underground’s most talented lyricists and artists. One of those artists featured was Outerspace, the Philly-repping duo of rappers Planetary and Crypt the Warchild, and
longtime collaborators with Stu Bangas & Vanderslice. Now, Outerspace is prepping their own new album, Lost In Space, and Stu Bangas has once again joined forces with Outerspace for the duo’s latest single, “Manolo.”
“Manolo” is built around Stu Bangas’ production, a track that is best described as, simply, “epic,” a combination of back-beating drums, menacing vocal chops, creeping synths, and rattling bass. Planetary and Crypt meet the track’s energy in full force, the track reaching its apex at the song’s forceful hook. “Stu sent us the beat, we heard it, and that’s all she wrote,” says Planetary of the track, while both rappers make note that the track, in all of its splendid grittiness, is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. “Raw rhymes, raw hook, raw beat,” says Crypt of the track, with
Planetary adding, “When you think of Outerspace, this is what you want to hear, no doubt.”
