Damu The Fudgemunk – “Vignettes” (Release)

Yes lawd! DC beatsmith Damu The Fudgemunk has blessed us with Vignettes, a 2 hour long instrumental beat journey, out now through Damu’s own Redefinition Records. Damu keeps the vibe moody and chill, but propels his jazzy samples with relentlessly driving breaks. These drums are about as classic as you can get. Vignettes plays like a forgotten 90’s East Coast classic, just without the rapper. A lot of cats are returning to a Boom Bap sound. While they study and imitate, Damu The Fudgemunk lives and embodies. Your neck is going to hurt after this one.

Stream below, and purchase the project through Damu’s Bandcamp. For the collectors out there, Damu has really out done himself by releasing Vignettes on a 2xCD, 3xLP (in limited white or black), and a 2xCassette Tape. If you got money to blow, Damu also has a vintage style Viewfinder with Vignettes artwork, slipmats, test pressings, and other unique merchandise available via the Redefinition Records website.

“Vignettes is a true example of ‘art imitating life.’ All the commentary/music is a collection of my personal experiences and those reflections applied to music to document an honest depiction of my current perspective on life and the world we share.” – Damu The Fudgemunk
